I’m Pepe, a PhD candidate in the Sociology Department at Northwestern University. My dissertation investigates the persistence of unsustainable agricultural practices such as palm oil monoculture in Indonesia — and other Global South postcolonial countries. I aim to contribute to the growing conversation and practices of sustainability initiatives given the pressure of climate change. I love learning others’ writing habits. At the Writing Place, I want to help fellow graduate students to write clearly and efficiently, while finding their own voice.
